What is misgendering?

It's like when you assume a boy is a girl by mistake.
You get the gender wrong.

And now we have 3 genders it's a nightmare.
@OogieBoogie I know he and she. What is the third?
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@OogieBoogie Only 3? I thought it was more than that, lol.
@TheSentinel
He/him/his

She/her/hers

They/them/theirs.(used as a singular pronoun)

So instead of "she likes her things to be hers", you would say "they like their things to be theirs".

Used often for non-binary, agendered and gender-fluid people.... I think... I get confused.
@OogieBoogie gender-fluid? agendered? non-binary?
It's like you are speaking a foreign language.
@TheSentinel it is!
It's confusing the deeper you get.
Like gynsexual and finsexual seem to mean the same thing to me, but I'm trying to understand these terms to respect friends who find this important.

Non-binary = you don't identify as one gender. Sometimes you feel masculine, sometimes feminine, sometimes neither.

Agendered :identifying as having no particular gender.

Genderfluid :swinging between genders.

And there's a hundred more.
Does my head in.
@SubstantialKick 😆... I'm trying to keep up with it all.

And there's actually practical applications for the third gender.

I had something happen at work, and I had to make a statement.
And not knowing who was responsible, I used 'they' as the pronoun, so I didn't make a prejudiced statement.

It came in handy 😊
ABCDEF7 · M
@OogieBoogie There are already 3 genders in Sanskrit: masculine, feminine, and neuter.
@ABCDEF7 IKR!
theres many countries that have three genders, Germany, France etc.

Now I look at it objectively... I think it has logical value.
I dont know why the English language developed without one.🤷‍♀️

It's not like androgeny is new 😅
