Ever have a moment that was just so odd you have to puzzle at it for the rest of the day?

I was walking our dogs this afternoon in the park, and behind me I heard a guy gruffly say “On your left, mister”, to which I said something like ‘Sorry, Thank you’ as I pulled the dogs to the right with me.
As he passed he said “Great looking dogs. Very cute.” but he said it like he was almost angry. The words and the tone were so mismatched it’s just left me wondering at the actual meaning of the statement, even now as I lay here trying to sleep 😂
