Magnus is a phenomenal player, but he is losing his edge. It was inevitable, happened to all of the best, Kasparov, Viswanathan. He must accept it.

@Longpatrol I was thinking the same thing this morning. His legacy is getting tarnished! He was expecting the guy to lose just because he Carlsen made a good preparation!? Guess what!? Niemann was also prepared!!
All this tells me that at the 2600+ level there’s really no difference between players in the middle and end game.
Carlsen’s opening didn’t give him an edge, if he was that extraterrestrial being he thinks he is, he should have won the middle and end game regardless. But reality was different. He’s human after all.
