@nightjourney count the letters that are in the bracket (the alphabet).
when they ask "How many letters are in the alphabet?" you only count these ----> "the alphabet"
NodandaWink · 51-55, M
@JudyS it's actually 7 as there are repeats and you have include -the- by the way the question is posed. -The alphabet- contains these letters t,h,e,a,l,p,b, the rest are repeats

SW-User
8. Three are repeats.
JudyS · 51-55, F
@SW-User yes...correct
GunFinger · F
The alphabet. 11. Ohh.😁
JoeXP · 56-60, M
If you mean the words ‘the’ and ‘alphabet’ that amounts to 11. If not it depends which alphabet you are talking about. Different languages have different numbers of letters. In English ‘&’ used to be regarded as a separate letter.
JoeXP · 56-60, M
Ignoring the obvious answer of 11 of course it depends on which alphabet you mean. Like Spanish regards ‘ll’ as a separate letter and Irish doesn’t have ‘k’. The traditionally the ampersand was considered a letter of the alphabet.

@lou502008 Is "mom" a two letter word in your world view?
lou502008 · 61-69, M
@SW-User if it's spelled "ma"!
KA9ha · 31-35, M
depends which alphabet you talk of???greek/latin/arabic/chinese ??
PoeticPlay · 51-55, M
10
"A " is used twice.

But counts as 1.

So, 10 not 11.

Or am I to be corrected?
I think we all went to the same school,,
BigBulge · 41-45, M
