Lost in the VR World

Finally Gave-in..,
The choice wasn't an easy one between PSVR for my PS4 Pro or the Oculus Quest 2.
Ended up buying an Oculus Quest 2, the deal-breaker for me was that its wireless, I don't like wires!
[/b]
First impressions..,
After the set-up I remember telling myself, "its just another way of playing video games and interaction, blah..,".
Then I proceeded to go through the tutorials and Wow, was I blown away ! Its totally immersive as you interact and manipulate images that you see on screen, one step closer to actually being there.

One of my first games..,
Puzzling Places
At first being old school thought okay, just put the pieces together (blah). So I proceeded to copy the image as shown. No-ways.., you mean I have to complete the back too..lol.

There went the day..,

Once I turn the Oculus on I'm in my own world the whole day.
When I got up this morning I told myself okay, first things first. Wash your face, make your coffee, brush your teeth, eat somethjng, anything, sweep and mop the floors.
And here I am still on it... the one thing that forces me to take a break is to charge up the headset and headstrap auxiliary batteries... fortunately.

Life is Good...thank you God!

I believe the enemy is real good at giving us distractions from God, making them seem innocent, but I don't believe God gave us those things. They are so addictive and I think that the enemy uses those to keep us away from God's Word, from reading and learning from His Word, distract us from the real world and helping others, from serving God, to break us down socially, so we don't interact anymore, get us to love pleasure more than God, and because he knows when we're tied up with anything that distracts us from God and His Word, they can take the place of God if we're not careful. They can very easily become our idol, taking the place of, and then pretty soon, we discover that they have taken priority in our lives, instead of God. We're sadly mistaken if we think that can't happen. It's just as easy as those who get hooked very very quickly in gambling at the races. Some people take their lives because of it. These things can leave us feeling empty when they take us away from social interaction. Then we wonder why we get depressed. God made us to socialize with each other.

I am not suggesting you have gone that far. I just think it's something to look at, be careful, and be aware of, is all I'm saying. I feel computers and games have destroyed us. They dehumanize us, give us over to be insensitive to each other and our needs, and keep us away from each other. This is why people feel so isolated, abandoned, and depressed. We were meant to socialize with each other and Thrive because of it in so many ways.

Satan is very subtle. He loves to make things look fun and innocent. He doesn't tell us the consequences of it. It starts out as simply fun, and then we miss it, and then we become addicted to it and need it, because some people are so lonely, and then before you know it you've got a full-blown addiction and boy is it hard to break. Of course we can go overboard with anything. The key is to discipline ourselves and not allow it to get out of hand. I'm not saying playing games is evil or that we shouldn't. I'm just saying we have to use caution and make sure we discipline ourselves so we are not playing these games 24/7 and ignoring friends, family, we're getting ourselves quickly addictive to the point that we can never control it. That's just as bad as alcohol or overeating. Those things can so easily take our lives over before we even realize it. Pretty soon we will forget all about God, miss church, miss Bible reading and praying, and fellowshipping with God. I don't believe this as innocent as we think.

@LadyGrace always... as stated on my bio for vr chat "God first". 👍
Why thank god for a human made device? Don't you think everyone who spent decades on developing this technology deserve most of the credit?
@eyeno so you're not blamed nor getting credit? You're just doing whatever he wants you to do and that's it?

@NerdyPotato When He speaks I listen....
One can relate to it to growing up with parents, your either going to listen to their instructions or face the consequences of ones actions.
@eyeno great analogy! Taking responsibility is very important in life.

Any issues with nausea? I have a Quest 2 and I really like some basic games like Beat Saber, but I have problems playing games where you turn around a lot, like adventure or shooting games...it makes me queasy after some time and I have to take a break.

@SumKindaMunster yes...,and I liken it to the feeling of being 'seasick'.
Use to go fishing with my Grandmother as a commercial fisherman every summer. The first two days I wanted to die, but soon got my sea legs which made it enjoyable.

Played Richies Plank and felt nauseous. Guess it might pass if I cut my hours spent in those games that make me feel that way and let it happen slowly till it doesnt bother me. 👍

@eyeno Thank you. That's my experience as well. Sadly, I don't always have the time to spend acclimating myself to it. I've been playing a lot of exercising games and boxing games, that seems to be the most rewarding games on it, I get a lot of exercise and enjoy the experience, it's exhilarating bouncing around my living room trying to stick and move.

@SumKindaMunster using technology and putting it to work for us is definitely money worth spending. 👍
