Just like a band asking to play for free for “exposure” or free beer. Time, travel (gas now local), equipment, individual practice, band rehearsal, vehicle wear and tear, etc. You get what you pay for. Want 5 drunks who can’t carry a tune, easy. Want a decent show, then pay the band.
