It's kind of like the way stores and restaurant architecture is going. It used to be all about the personality and color. Now it's about being neutral and gray. The order of things today is to play it safe and aim for acceptance by all, rather than being yourself and finding those that can truly be there. Might have gotten carried away with this metaphor, but fuck it.

@SpectralMourning Exactly this...
Maybe it's just generational changes but I remember when we celebrated individuality and laughed at people who were robotic and sought mass appeal.
Now it's cool to sell your soul to fit in. To be part of a cliche and insult people who don't fit in. It's the bully energy we tried so hard to squash before it squashed our spirit. I guess it won. Doesn't seem like anyone is fighting it very hard. But I guess it's okay if we're all so self absorbed and stuck up we cant feel anything anyway.
It's a shame. I really think we were on a decent path forward but now we're too afraid of not fitting in or being liked we sacrificed our identity.
