I was taking the stairs up and heard someone dropping some sort of glass at the laboratory. I heard it break into pieces.

We had to pay a lab deposit for the quick fit glassware we used in the organic chemistry lab at uni. Everybody broke something, one student broke virtually everything in a spectacular accident invovling a water bath boiling dry. We found out that the cupboards where we locked our equipment all had the same key. Towards the end of the year there were a lot of late night visits to the lab to make sure our equipment list was full.
