Oh right! Take one of the few all American manufactured things and let Elon import all the parts outside of the USA! 🤣

Might even come out with a cheaper motorcycle than Honda or Yamaha with all the tariffs! 🤣

The bikers would really love Elon then! They might even join all the protests themselves! 😈

If you think Tesla parts are made in the USA, I know of some swamplands for sell! All Tesla does in the USA is put the parts together.

There's multiple reasons why they are protesting!

@DeWayfarer LOL. That's total BS. Tesla sources over 80% of its parts from domestic suppliers. They are protesting because Elon is uncovering the source of capital that the left has been stealing from the US taxpayers for decades. Also, the ones who are causing damage are hate filled America last miscreants. Hopefully more of them are arrested and justice served.

@carpediem guy there was a protest just in Palm springs that brought up this very point!

It was attended by both sides BTW and there was no violence on either side.

The manufacturing of parts is simply impossible here in the USA for Tesla! Even Musk saying labor is cheaper outside of the USA!

Why? Because he has his fingers in it! It's why he moved to Texas from California, just to put the car together!

Hence the protests in California!

BTW the USA has very little lithium mining for batteries and up to 30% of the weight of his car is lithium batteries!

So guess where he gets his batteries? Just the batteries are up to 30% of the car. Nothing else.

Top it off you have computer assisted driving. Where does he get the computers? It certainly isn't IBM! Most of the chips used are made in Taiwan or Hong Kong!

@DeWayfarer Everyone is moving out of California. Newsflash.... Texas is still America. California is just not inviting to business. They drive them out of state by enacting bad policy. And yes, labor is cheaper outside the US. Taxes, regulations and trade agreements make it even tougher to build inside the US. It's time to solve those problems.

I agree with you about the chips and lithium. That's a huge problem and these tariffs are designed to solve it. We as a nation cannot import all the vitally important components we need forever. Eventually this needs to be worked out. As I understand it, a company out of Taiwan is investing $100billion in building them in Arizona. That's a decent start.
