Thats funny. I once pinched a punt pole that was mooring a punt next to a field on the river Cam. If you think about it that's pretty equivalent, some rich graduate having his idyllic picnic in the field with some beautiful undergrad and us sex starved undergrads - They were obviously off having their romantic escaped. Jealousy can distort the mind to extreme degrees. Kept it in my room for two days. Then discretely took it back to the boat houses. When I think back that was an incredibly cruel thing to do but then the rich toffs can affored the damages.
