Have any other GenX dropped an insult in public to embarrass a young audience that was teasing them for being OLD!
When I was 56 years old (four years ago). I was in a Dungeons and Dragons playing group with my deceased son's best friend that I saw as a my son as well, and we were at a breakfast restaurant at 9AM before we played our Sunday game all day at the adopted son's house. The guys were 22 to to 37 years old and throwing old man comments at me left and right.
So, when the waitress about my age came to take our orders, I said I would order last. So, she went around the table getting all the other orders and stopped at me last, I placed my order and waited for her to ask me how I liked my eggs cooked. When she asked, I spoke loudly saying, "Why I like my eggs over easy just like all of their mother's, why do you think they all call me dad!" The waitress doubled over laughing as well as all the tables around ours that had overheard the boys giving me shit for being old. The poor guys did not say another word (You know that hurt butt can't take a joke thing you folks have). I died laughing and high fiving the waitress and had a peaceful breakfast.
