This made me smile

A pensioner drove his brand new BMW to 100 mph, looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a police car behind him. He floored it to 140 , then 150, ... then 155, ... Suddenly he thought,
"I'm too old for this nonsense !"
So he pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the police car to catch up with him.
The officer walked up to him, looked at his watch and said,
"Sir, my shift ends in ten minutes. Today is Friday and I'm taking off for the weekend with my family. If you can give me a good reason that I've never heard before, why you were speeding... I'll let you go."
The Man looked very seriously at the police man, and replied :-
"Years ago, my wife ran off with a policeman, I thought you were bringing her back." !!!
The Cop left saying,
" Have a good day, Sir "...

Once, I was going home at lunch to take in the laundry I’d hung on the line before I left for work and, yes, I was speeding. It had just started to rain. I had to take in the clothes.

Siren, flashing lights behind me. I pulled over. The officer walked up to my window and told me I was going 15 mph over the speed limit. I tried to start an excuse but my heart wasn’t in it. “Yes, sir.”

He asked, “Any reason for the speed?”

I said, “Probably no valid reason to anyone but me.”

He smiled. “Try me. I’m bored.”

So I told him about the laundry and the rain. When I finished, he said, “Not the best story I’ve ever heard, but good enough for a rainy Monday. Slow down, please.” He walked back to his cruiser and as he drove past me he shook his index finger at me, smiling.

Even on a rainy Monday, kindness can change things.
