The allegedly cool people were never really that cool to me.

Most seem kinda mean actually. Everything is an inside joke. And they're only nice when it suits them. They look like they're all on the same energy but they're just following each other around playing copy cat without the originality to know it.

It takes all kinds, but I think it's cooler to be genuine, truly genuine and let the crazy and weird hang out. And being accepting and inclusive because you respect differences.

Well said Fox. Being able to be authentic is important. Sadly, I wasn’t that early on, followed the crowd, all the things. But when you’re able to just be yourself, that’s freeing.

@BillyMack being authentic can leave you feeling alone at times but it's so freeing and totally worth the real connection with yourself and others.
I think the latter exists in the little pockets you find for yourself because even when I became one of the "cool ones" I had more than one circle to dip in and out of. One tolerates you the other celebrates you. I was aware of it and didn't care because I expected no different. Just feels like the way of the world.

Me and my girlf were part of the cool crowd at school, but they pretty much ditched us overnight when I was in college. Being popular/cool was so important to me back then and it hit me very hard that people thought I wasn’t. I realise now how shallow they were/are.

I couldn't have said it better. No company is better than bad company. I like being who I am and enjoying all around respect.

I was never cool, and I was picked on a lot. I was different and they made sure I knew it.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@SlippingAway same, now I'm so glad I was never and could never fit in with fake people.
I just stay in my own lane and do what I do. 🚗

I thought the cool people were cool because they looked satisfied and spent time with one another. I still think they were cool.

Everything else was a pale imitation. It is why I am cool.
I was always a loner. Didn't follow the crowd, and they didn't follow me

@Bexsy you're too awesome for them, truly
