Omg so apparently a gay man on Facebook received a message

Apparently there's all these religious followers who think the rapture is gonna be this Wed, I didn't know this was going on but this is what they're saying.

They messaged him asking to care for their dog while they get raptured saying they thought he had a nice heart but wasn't getting into heaven. She lived an hour away from him and wanted to pass off her dog cos she's getting raptured on Wed.

I feel bad for these people imagine waking up on Wed and finding out you're still here 😭

When I was like 14, the idea of the rapture was wildly circulated.
Mostly by televangelists and churches wanting money.

I remember asking my dad, "If Jesus is coming back to take the good people and the rest of us are going to h3ll, why are people still living normal lives as if nothing is going to happen?"

All he said was, "OH they have been saying that for 2,000 years!"

BTW I am NO religious nut, but I do know the bible mentions that no one knows when the rapture will be. Matthew 24:35 - 37

I guess whatever preacher missed that part. Strange cause it is a well-known passage.

@HoeBag That's what I say is what your dad said, it's been 2,000 years lol 😆 and that was many years ago so now it's almost 3,000 more like 👍

But I could see the young you asking that question, I know I would wonder why no one was freaking out about it lol

@SatanBurger Oh yeah, I worded pretty much like that, I forget exactly how but I haven't changed.

At one time, they thought the world would end in 2000. Churches thought that 1993 would bring the rapture, then seven years of tribulation would follow, then by 2000 it would end.

Well, I knew I was going to graduate in June 1993 so my thought was, "Maybe the rapture will wait until late 93 so I can enjoy at least a few months of not being in school."

But even before that...

@SatanBurger its no different than any other cult. The guy who claimed it will come up with an excuse and change the date. Then when that doesn’t happen he’ll change the date again and so on and so on.

@Captainjackass I don't see how people fall for it every time though. I could see falling for it once or a few times but then you kinda just need to move on. It doesn't mean you need to not be Christian anymore but how many hints does one need. Give it a rest.

And to hate on others that's really wild 😒

@SatanBurger like I said a cult. They just blindly believe whatever someone tells them.

The "rapture" is a really fringe belief of Christianity,,,,these folks are beyond the pale
