I have congratulated the wrong person on having a baby in a ceremony party.
And to top it, two other groups, who were trying to guess took my prompt & showered her with compliments and congratulations, and even two gifts were pushed onto her hands before she could protest

@nym3ria the lady shot me a couple of looks full of reproach, and then explained & took the bunch of invitees to the actual mother. When she was having the desserts, messy fingers & all I proffered a napkin & my apology. Promptly explained that as she was the best dressed glowing person in the hall, I was fooled.
Toss of head, then an semi-suppressed smile & forgiven.
*Got off easy, could have been worse.)
