A former room mate that I worked with tried sneaking up to scare me at work while I had a sharp tool in my hand at my work station, this prompted me to turn around and put my xacto knife blade tip within an inch of his neck out of instinct. His brother was also our factory shift supervisor and saw the whole thing, he simply told my room mate that he was lucky I didn't cut his throat out, telling he was sick and tired of jump scaring his coworkers all the time, that it was eventually going to happen that someone was going to eventually attack, that the next time he may not be so lucky. He never did it again.
