Gooodmorninnng!!!! This is not Oaul Harvey but if it were it would likely tell you about the many intermarriages that went on between the post WW2 reconstruction through the 1970s. And while the duration of such things are always precarious due to differences from dietary preferences to customs , the carnal aspects of a few well endowed Americans combined with the unusually high consumption of fish in the diets of the people of that region led to a few failures both dietary and relational.
The need to declare the reason for petitioning divorce or even tactfully a Japanese wife asking for a Friday night of relief led to a need to learn at least a little bit of emergency English quickly in those days.
The Japanese women's equivalent of "not tonight, I have a headache" was an all purpose sentence that could be used for everything from turning down a date to explaining why sex was not being served up to a craven husband.
