How does an introvert make friends?

I dunno…. I insult someone and if they laugh, we’re friends

An introvert makes friends... very carefully, perhaps slowly, perhaps cautiously, checking the other(s) out at every stage, making sure they are to be trusted.

It's always been hard for me... And after what I've experienced these last few years I don't know when I'll be able to even try again. ☹️ Basically I have no answer ugh but I do know how it feels.

Well in a sense you are kind of protected from the whole Letting Someone In conundrum / dilemma since you are on the road and not hunkered down in one location.

I can't even pretend to have a definitive answer, but it seems much like romantic involvement in that it essentially is luck, but you have to put yourself out there. Making friends with a guy can make that more complicated a process than it need be [assuming we are talking men who are attracted to women.]

Just have a think about it. Don't overthink. Maybe even think by not thinking. Put some music on or a good podcast and just...drive, or watch a good movie. Just do something you enjoy whatever it is, or even just do something you're meaning to do about the place and it can come to you. Sometimes that works for me.

That's all I got for now.. Just got in after a long day, myself, and was still on my feet for ages doing dinner and other stuff with music on. It can help to just zone out. Hope this is of use.

That was the biggest problem for me after graduating from college. The way I did it was working a part time job in something that interests me and I started talking shop with others who liked the same stuff. I ended up making some friends that way.

I've been having trouble with that myself lately. But I made my best friends during intense periods of our lives.

I surrounded myself with an inner circle of (mostly Dutch) friends because they tend to understand me better than most people do.

I'm an introvert, and the people that I am most likely to click with happen to be like minded.

You learn to weed out the people you don't want to associate with from the people whom share a mutual enjoyment of each other.
I have very few friends, but I'm fine with that. Easier to manage, and less bullshit to deal with. I'm not afraid to show anyone the door if shit hits the fan.

Sadly we don’t make enough conversations to hold onto someone .. but on the contrary ,we complain about it

Slowly, taking every step with precaution and time. With time you no more remain introvert. You can use the anonymity here as a tool to practice.

Just keep throwing yourself out there and till you find a few friends that you enjoy sharing time with!

I don't know that one must be an introvert @RebelFox. I feel much the same way yet I am almost certainly not introverted.

It's tough :( getting the right balance.... need them around, but not too much lol

Practice a facial expression that makes it look like you know something others don’t.

Have to take time to get to know them. I don't open up irl as easy as here.
