Were you ever the little guy but had a great big bodyguard to keep you safe no matter what??
My daughter loves Dachshunds and this was the day she brought little 2-to-3-pound miniature Dachshund Eli home to my farm. His instant Bodyguard and buddy were my 130-pound male Rottweiler Fritz.
When I had my lab put down our Rott, who had never been without him, got really depressed. I caught him just laying on the floor one day staring into the corner. I realized we had to get him a new friend. We got a fox terrier. Had one growing up. Man!!!!! Those two were inseparable.
@Dainbramadge I have had the same situations when one of my Rott's has to meet his maker too. It is funny how the new dog and old dog bond first then the new one bonds to you second.
@WillaKissing Yeah when we brought her in the house I just sat her down and he came running with his ears up and wagging his butt. LOL She freaked and wet all over the floor but he still sniffed the crap out of her and hopped around all excited. He followed her everywhere.
@Wallflow3r Let me tell ya, Fritz was ready to snack on whatever was trying to make Eli a snack for sure. Fritz even let Eli use him as a warming blanket.
