Let's talk about the difference between nudity and nakedness
I do get aroused for a moment every time I see a woman in her birthday suit (again), but that feeling passes quite quickly if I don't act upon it and then something much better happens. To not make this post too long, I'll limit it to a woman undressing for my eyes only.
After the brief sexual excitement wears off, it turns into a gesture of trust and comfort to let me see her full, real, natural self including all her imperfections. The first time is going to be awkward for us both, but that's good too. It raises the bar for embarrassment and fear of judgment ever after, helping to show more of all that emotionally too.
To me it feels underrated how nice it can be to get (partially) naked while talking about various topics, of course after building a sufficient level of trust, comfort and interest while fully dressed first, without it automatically leading to an orgasm one way or another.
I'm not going to pretend I'm against sexualizing it sometimes, but we'd be missing out if we didn't enjoy the other effects of nakedness too. (Similar to not pausing to appreciate the underwear stage while rushing towards full nudity.)
I've got a lot more nuance and details on this, but this post seems way too long already for the average reader. So I'll just end with saying it's been a while since I had a friend who felt the same way and I miss that.
