sorry for your loss, i also had a good friend who i could be myself with, she was from san diego, she was an elderly lady and was like a great aunt to me, a special friend, she passed away from terminal cancer last year and i miss her deeply, miss having a true friend..i wish you well and hope you can recover and find a new good friend, all the best.

So sorry about your loss. With such closeness it's like you get to live 2 lives at the same time. Yours and theirs. And they likewise. Soulmates that get to live in one another's head and heart, like a ghost that listened and talked back, a cheerleader with unconditional enthusiasm.
