Why can’t there be play dates for adults?

I’m at an age where making new friends seems awkward, and yet here we are. How do you go about making new friendships, and what do you hope to get out of them?

I use my hobbies and interests as a starting point. I use to use meet-up. I am not sure if that still exists but more FB now .

I have joined coffee groups, wine groups atheist groups (i am an atheist) cycling groups, hiking groups , but I really like hiking alone and others.

I have a very wise friend in marketing tell me once that the secret to strong platonic relationships is find your tribe. She was right and I make connections by finding my tribe.

I went on a marketing industry one last year which was well attended.

@ArtieKat what were the topics / that industry is moving so quickly into an IT-ish direction. If you have experience integreating sales enablement platforms with CRMS you worth your weight in gold . I met a few in the last few years that even had API integration experience.

@ArtieKat oh that is interesting job. i had sparring partner in the 90's who was a cook and a cater. It was fascinating when he talked about his catering gigs. Just the logisitcs and of it was mind boggling.
