the thought of spending the rest of your life alone

[c=7700B2]that's what i think sometimes about the situation i'm in; i have lived alone in a small flat for 18 years...i don't have a support network anymore nor any friends, i only have my elderly mum and dad and they live far away..

i sometimes think, that i'm in my mid 40s now and what if i never find a partner or make new friends, what if i have to spend the rest of my life alone and it really devastates me...i mean i am an reserved introverted person but did hope that i'd find a partner or a friend, but it hasn't happened yet...and i'm 46 now.[/c]

The only way to make friends is to join meet up groups with those who have similar interests to you and who arrange trips and events. Social clubs aren't always for finding a partner, although it could help as you never know. Bars and clubs aren't because they are always noisy and others are with friends which can make you feel even lonelier. The problem is, getting ourselves to actually do something about it. But It wouldn't hurt to try.

Maybe take some hobby classes or volunteer work. You can meet people that way.
