I so agree.

I hate when my mother refers to my previous friends as boyfriends meaning something sexual when they really were not. Just friends. Why may a boy and a girl just be friends?

It's just because boys and girls being close friends without anything sexual is just not that common. Have you told her she is wrong in your case?

@ninalanyon Yes. But she just ignores me. At school my best friend was a boy. As we grew up he had girlfriends but we still were friends. He played piano to accompany me in my clarinet exams.
