Why I never be good enough for some poeple?

I have this lecturer at my university who was always super critical of me. Me not taking initiative in the class, not pushing through my ideas in my project, not standing up for myself, he said that I should not do a PhD cause I didn't come with the idea by myself and was comparing me to other students and how they are much better.
Well, I gave him right (cause he really was right about me not having enough confidence), and I started to do all those things, I speak up in the project meetings, adapted my PhD topic to my interests and not the interests of others, i will be defending earlier and with more publications than the students he was always telling should be my role model (and they are really great students and I've seen them as role models), and I will be having my own project abroad for my PostDoc after my defence.
And I did everything what he advised me and I wrote him about my PostDoc abroad and wanted to talk to him about it and now he's ignoring me. So why am I still not good enough for him?

I’ve had something like this before. In fact pretty much every girl has. Even though we live in America and it’s the 21st century. There are some people who just think we can’t make it. It’s really quite criminal to have a respectable authority like that suggest such a thing my best suggestion? Keep doing your work. I am I’m pre-doctoral just now but I will get there
