Actually, there’s so many variations of that lore. Others believe his father who had wings and goat like features is named Pallas so she kept that title.

Google suggests they were practice sparring and Athena expected Pallas to dodge ... but Pallas didn't dodge...

Also sounded like Athena was raised by Pallas's family.

And other Google suggests that Pallas is also Athena, or that she has that name.
