When they disappear

I have a friend on here that randomly vanished. He went from logging in and chatting almost daily to nothing for almost 2 months. Needless to say I'm very worried. I know they don't offer it to me, but i just wish i could some how find out of they are ok.

Now it seems like another friend is slipping away. Another person I chatted with almost daily. But now, it's like there is no interest to continue our friendship and it's so confusing and hurtful.

They may "just" be internet friends. But when you talk to a person almost every day for over 3 years you kinda get attached.

😥

Don't you have other means of contact with these people? FB or something?. When you talk to someone for three years, they matter to you. You should already have had their number or some other means of contact than SW.

But I understand the sadness you feel when they disappear. Good thing is time washes over most worries. May be you will find someone else. Some awesome friends.

So cheer up Cheyster ☃️
[big][center][u][i][b][c=A69800]That sometimes does happen online..

Maybe they are going through things in real life also some people might be getting bullied and harassed by someone with multiple accounts and or a group of people. So not wanting to go on as much..

Maybe their life is busy so not got much time to come on here 🤷🏼‍♀️

Don't take it personally. Can you not email the person or people who u miss.

I get it, had other sites I used before this Reddit being one aswell and suddenly I got suspended from whole freaking site for one answer which was not bad and cannot make a new account, missed friends I made on that who I knew from another site. Life was difficult and wondered if they knew what had happened.. got in touch with one and decided to make an account here to keep in touch 😀

It is sad how the world has changed so much and mostly for the negative in the last few years. What is the name of the first friend? Perhaps someone has seen or heard from them. It is a choice.

Can you express to this other friend how you are feeling? At least that is a form of closure if he or she leaves without further contact. Honesty is the best way to handle problems.

I think especially internet friends are to be treasured. Attachments upon friends online can be intimate. One can share secrets. One can banter. One can be closer online than to friends who are in the "other world". I wish you closer friendships. Ones that last as long as your heart wants them to.
Sadly this happens on the internet.
There are a couple of folk I would like to know about.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I can't help but worry

The internet is a strange place. I've lost touch with friends through silly things like a broken computer, moving house and other things.
I was on EP and would love to reconnect with some of the people I met on there.
BBrendan · 46-50, M
@cheyster I do too. I have trouble remembering names and have forgotten what everybody's username was. I can't even remember what my name was on EP.
That is sad.
cheyster · 31-35, F
@BBrendan i remember one of the name and my old ep name. Nice was Punkcowgirl. A friend i wish i could locate was ukhobo.
BBrendan · 46-50, M
@cheyster Ah none of those rings a bell for me. I wonder if they are on here or not. It took me a good while to find this site after EP closed down.
JustEd · 41-45, M
🤷‍♂️. I’ve done it. Life gets chaotic and tough. And when you don’t want to bring darkness to a place where it’s nothing but light it’s hard to be in. And all of a sudden weeks pass before you pull out of it. It’s tough but give it time and maybe they will be back.

Two years ago I had an online friend disappear. We had been friends since 2014. I got an email telling me why she had been out of touch the previous 7 months but it sounded like she was getting things straightened out and we were planning to catch up in a few days once she got settled in. Then nothing. I managed to track down one of her sisters but I got the impression her sister didn't know where she was either.
cheyster · 31-35, F
@robb65 that's concerning. I'm very sorry
tmmaier · 51-55, F
They could leave and create a new profile come back and friend you again as a stranger.
cheyster · 31-35, F
@tmmaier maybe...
Starchild1983 · 41-45, F
That happens from time to time but it is never easy 🤗💜
cheyster · 31-35, F
@Starchild1983 no it's not
WillaKissing · 56-60
I have been here since the site opened and I agree with you.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
I was on another group before coming here, had some who liked guns and some who vocally didn't. So the dislikes were always posting crap about any shooting. Finally got tired of the bs.

Not saying this is why yours quit, but there could be reasons, but unless they say why, you'll never know.
cheyster · 31-35, F
@Disgustedman never thought of that. I used EP too.
IsitevenMe · 46-50, M
Hope it all works out for you both.
xbandoleerx · 56-60, M
This is the “X” side of internet..makes us insensitive to the feelings and concerns of others, makes us selfish & introverted.
cheyster · 31-35, F
@xbandoleerx ya unfortunately
xbandoleerx · 56-60, M
@cheyster Adapt is my advise for you 😏
cheyster · 31-35, F
@xbandoleerx seems like sound advice.
PassingThrough · 41-45, M
It definitely happens. A lot of my interactions are a fast and heavy sort of thing where I have to log on each day to see if there’s new messages. It’s been a while since that’s been the case and it really is sad. I’m sorry you’re going through that too.
pdockal · 56-60, M
Unfortunately they didn't get as attached as you did
cheyster · 31-35, F
@pdockal clearly. One of them had surfaced but it's been close to 6 months now since I've heard from him
pdockal · 56-60, M
@cheyster

Time to move on
deadgerbil · 22-25
Always a good idea to get their contacts instead of just relying on here to talk
PassingThrough · 41-45, M
@deadgerbil I’ve tried that and sometimes it has worked. But the most recent person I talked to consistently wouldn’t give me any info beyond an email that she used a few times to talk outside of here. It made me give up eventually and I withdrew knowing for one reason or another she didn’t want to be in touch outside of here
Tell me about it... I've had nothing from one of my friends in two years now...
cheyster · 31-35, F
@HootyTheNightOwl I'm very sorry. Idk about you, but for me i never fully lose the hope that I'll log in and they will be back.
Amor69Fati · 51-55, M
Sad to hear that... Hope they all are fine and get back to you...😊
I know what that's like. Hopefully you get some sort of closure.
SW-User
I'm sorry that happened to you
prettyInpink00 · 26-30, F
I feel this. Hug <3
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
It really sucks and then it gets to the point where you don’t want to let anyone in again.
