Why is there a kind of stigma about commenting on posts that are too old?

I'm gonna set up an alt account and they'll be a time traveler called HG Swells who only comments on posts from the past.

It doesn't bother me unless ine person comments on every post from the past.

Sometimes a comment appears in my feed and I go see the post and comment only to then realise it is an old post and think I shouldn't have - but I have no idea why I feel like that?

The problem is a few users on here are really dead. You never know when anyone is going to pass away. So you might be talking to the dead. Literally or figuratively.

Many do have that problem. They want to talk to the living, not the dead in any case. It's weird to expect a reply from a dead person. The same on a dead account.

And people are very touchy about viewing profiles.

It's not about stigma for me but I learned it's often not even actual anymore. The person is already somewhere else and can't even relate to their old posts.

Would be weird if the poster is not active anymore or left or something. Other than that i think it's fine

Cause people wonder how you got there if your trolling their old posts but sometimes if someone commented, they are up on top of my feed

I'm doing it on purpose lately. I made a post about it days ago as a heads up so hopefully people don't think I'm weird 😅 so at least they could see that post if they click on my profile wondering why I'm "creepin" lol

It really depends on the comment for me. These old dudes commenting on a young girls welcome to SW post more than a year after she made it and saying… hey PM me… feels a bit creepy.

I actually don't even pay attention to how old a post is

After time things fade away so are the posts

Because 98% of the time the post is about nudes or sex. I don't think there's stigma, I do find it amusing

I have older posts with over a thousand comments. It’s fine by me.

I have no idea. Sometimes I do it just because of the stigma.
