One of my longtime friends from Ireland…

I’m friends with both her and her husband, whom I met first, in one of my classes at work.

She has the most beautiful naturally curly red hair, and he has long, beautiful dark hair, and they joke about how they both loved each other’s hair when they first met—on BART (public transit).

He had been working for a friend and had had his hair tucked into a hat to keep it out of the way. On the train, he pulled the hat off. His hair was almost waist-length, and a lot of people said, "woah !"

She said, "Jaysus !" He turned, saw her and grinned.
"Not quite—don’t be fooled by the hair ! I’m Rio." He extended his hand, she shook it, and that was the beginning.
Their children smile whenever they tell that story.

Now I also have curly hair, and during a visit she borrowed the conditioner I use. She liked it a lot, and has used it ever since.

It is marketed for African Americans, and while shopping together one day, we saw it on sale, and each picked up three bottles, with other items.
At the checkout stand, the cashier (who was also black) took her bottles and placed them with my items.

We looked at each other.
My friend said, "Hey, those are mine ! Look at this hair ! That’s a great product, and I use it, too !"

The cashier, an older woman, chuckled and put the bottles back with my friend’s things.
"Well, good for you, Ma’am. Clearly it works, your hair looks just beautiful !"

Whatever works! My adopted daughter (whose parents I have never set eyes upon) has the most untameable hair imaginable. A little olive oil used as conditioner makes her curls even curlier and beautifully shiny!
@SunshineGirl This conditioner also has olive oil as an ingredient. 😊

@bijouxbroussard Im probably one of the few curly headed people whose hair hates oil..my hair prefers water based products
@QueenandCrown The thing I like about this is, it’s not super oily or greasy, because many products are for people with really dry hair and scalp. It moisturizes my scalp just enough to give my hair some shine and softness.
