I too thought recently of the quantum experiment whereas the light turns into wave and then particle, depending if it's being watched or not. And what I have observed and thought was that, if looking with the eyes of love, light does not change.
So maybe you can add some elements there in your statement.

Sounds like an expression about the phenomenon where we overlook the obvious flaws and problems in the ones we love. Be it that friend on love with someone toxic that refuses to accept reality no matter how much you point it out or the coddling parent who believes their child can do no wrong and goes to war with anyone that might suggest otherwise.

Love is blind - blind to the foibles and flaws in someone that many can see,other than the person who loves him/her.

Probably that people can’t always see the foibles in those whom they love.
