Are you less likely to befriend a childless, single adult than a family-oriented person?

SW-User
I think that if I was a mother, I would prefer someone that has children and is family oriented. I don't think a single, childless person would be able to relate to me as much, so yeah, definitely a bit less likely.

I have friends in both categories and married individuals.

i get that people are uncomfortable around me for that choice i made
HeteroDox · 36-40, F
@AnonymouslyYours and why is that?
Due to cultural expectations (e.g. women should desire and arguably be partially defined by the pursuit of motherhood)...at least in the western context. @HeteroDox

@AnonymouslyYours actually its been my observation that western ontexts are more accepting of the decision not to follow domestic convention - if anything i see (and have been criticized) by more traditional eastern cultures, particularly as it applies to theistic influenced societies.
No. Why would you even ask that?
Just genuinely curious about the extent to which stigma still exists around the single and childless. @quitwhendone
@AnonymouslyYours Oh, I didn't know there was a stigma associated with being single and childless.

I'm MORE likely to befriend a childfree single person.

It's about the person not status on their tax return.

As long as the person is cool to hangout with
I don't choose friends by that category...

I’m a childless, single adult, so I certainly wouldn’t fault anyone for that.
