What to get two women for Christmas?

Hi everyone, I'm asking for some help. Yesterday a neighbor down the hill from us, her house caught fire. The house didn't burn to the ground but appears there is enough damage she won't be living there until repairs are done. I have opened my house to her and her daughter who is visiting for the holidays. They have no relatives in the area. I told them, they can stay as long as needed. It's already been discussed, they will be with us for Christmas. I don't know the ladies very well, the daughter I barely know at all. What are some ideas as to what to get them for Christmas? My hope is with Christmas breakfast and dinner and opening presents maybe if even for just a few minutes, they will have some joy, some happiness during this time.

Edit: This might help, she is mid 50's to 60? And her daughter is mid to late 30's?

I think Cherokeepatti is right...they will need a LOT of things. If you get them gift cards, make sure they are American Express gift cards which can be used almost anywhere.

If you have limited funds and they have to replace a LOT, you might consider finding a local thrift shop, (we have a place called Savers in this area), and find out if the thrift shop offers a gift card option. They can probably get twice the amount of things shopping at a place like that...even furniture if they need it.
