Maybe not the wildest, but the most horrific thing was driving down the autobahn in northern Germany with snow covered roads and temps below zero.

I was driving in the right lane, going slow and driving carefully when I went over a rise in the road and a Mercedes passed me in the left lane. It was almost flying and I thought to myself, that's crazy just as the road took a long slow turn to the left. I saw the Mercedes begin to slide and when my eyes shifted up I saw two children looking out the rear window with looks of shear terror on their faces as the Mercedes slid off the road and dropped out of sight over a cliff.

That was in the late 70s and it still haunts me. I'll never forget the look on their faces.

My buddy and I were in his truck and driving home on the highway. Being in a pickup truck we sat a little higher then the cars. We glanced over at the car next to us.
