But, if the sex was so great in a socialist country, would they leave in droves? In theory women would head to those countries, not away. So, the premise seems off. The allure of greater freedom and the white picket fence seems to dominate (be it true or not).
I’m guessing that’s what the author meant by, “And other arguments for economic independence”. The sex gets better as you leave communism and move toward socialism and more so once you reach democracy or a democratic republic.
The freer you are (as a woman), the better the sex. That’s the joke inferred in the title.
