Have you ever felt like your friend is ashamed of you?

I experienced that as a child, because a lot of the other kids weren’t allowed to play with me (by their parents). A surprising number liked me anyway, but they risked getting in trouble if someone told on them. 🙁

Yup,in high school. I had started writing down the whole story but then I realised the point is you have two choices. You either accept it and just hang out with them on their terms or you end the friendship . It really depends on what you are ok with tbh.

Uh yeah I remember that friend... then after that heartbreaking and terrifying experience I just became that bad friend to another friend.

I was thinking of that second friend, for whom I was the one hiding her from much exposure to my world. I send her an apology.

Perhaps those two were my last real friendships I'm now realising. It's been years. I say real because, I was giving myself. Nowadays I'm either too reserved and never get eny close or hit everyone with a full blow and they want no more.

I think a lot of us have had friends that when it is just us, they are cool but when anyone else is around, we become "second choice" or left out.

Lately I don’t have any such friends but I used to. They only hungout till someone better came by. I knew it but it didn’t bother me. I know a bit about how some humans operate.

Might explain why I don't really have any left. I have been told on multiple occasions that I am "too much to handle". Whatever that means

No, but sometimes I do worry I’m the “last resort” for some of my friends. Like, they only want to hang out with me when all the cooler/more fun people are unavailable. That’s probably mostly my insecurity, though.
