i avoid other parents at all cost when at schools waiting on my son or whatever. They all seem very clingy and desperate for friendship.
Chat to one and they follow you around like a toddler.

Sorry to hear about your best friend. My best friend took his life years ago and yeah same as you with your friend, no one could replace that friendship with me but i do have other close mates in a small friend circle and yeah i avoid basically everyone else. Dont need anymore friends in person i think

@Torsten Yeah I do tend to avoid the majority of people at school. Only say hi to couple and that's it. Since my relationship breakdown though this one she's kind of been lingering. I'm very guarded (more since my best friend died) good friends don't just pop up out of the blue. I'm hoping she'll back off a bit tbh 😬🤷

My best friend of 30 yrs died last Feb. No-one will come close to her friendship.

Up to you, just have some control people can't be inviting themselves round, I'd personally go for it.

@BritishFailedAesthetic yeah the inviting herself over bit really made me feel uneasy. If any friendship is to occur it has to be steadily done. I don't do throw yourself type thing at all.

That's why i have boundaries. I've run into these type of people too many times. If they're any kind of sensible human, they'll understand. If they don't, well then, they just don't get it. 🤷.
