How do we become "FRIENDS" on SW vs "follower"???

Following means you added someone as a friend but they didnt add you yet. Friends mean you both follow eachother.

You have to stop being a 70-79 yo man and start being a 26-30 woman. Your entire bio is about sex. You’re the stereotypical SW lonely male and unfortunately nobody wants to be friends with that unless they send their wife’s nudes.

Follows both ways. If you have followed them already, then ask them to follow you. Though often it's done immediately after you follow them if you have been around a long time.

Maybe the concept of friend exists any more, just mutual followers?

Like in real life they stand out from the others and then you just pick one and a friendship forms if you have things in common. On the other hand if you were a follower it means you like some ones post you want to try n catch them all. A person can poses one label or both at once. So in a way sw friends and sw followers are basically the same thing. It’s your interaction that dictates how you define it think.
