I think if you have children you better fucking do your best to remain “friendly”. Otherwise it really depends on circumstance and what each party wants/needs

I think I could be. I'm not that possessive. I want whoever I let into my life to be happy and fulfilled, even if I'm not the one making them that way. If I have to take a back seat for them to find what they need, I can live with that.

Granted, if they don't give a damn about my own fulfilment and happiness, I probably won't want to keep them around, but at least I wouldn't be outright hostile or resentful towards them.

Yes and no...
Most I'm not friends with for a reason, some I'd be friends with but we fell out of touch.
My husband was never cool with the exes I had no problems with.
