Irish whiskey

Every now and then I buy a bottle of Irish whiskey. I usually have bought Jameson, which I prefer to Bushmills.

But recently I tried this and loved it, so I just bought a bottle for myself.

It's a little more expensive, but it has a much richer flavor.

I've found the more expensive,not sold on supermarket shelves always taste better.. I found a great bar in Dublin where the bartender showed me different options

Haven't tried this. I'm not a fan of Jameson. Middleton Very Rare is excellent.

@smiler2012 they are both good whiskeys only the sectarians claim you must drink the ‘correct’ one

@DrWatson
Mystery surrounded its early days on the market and it's now accepted that Bushmills are the folks behind the crafting of The Sexton.19 Oct 2024

Canadian Club is nice too

Should try Teeling
If it says whiskey instead of whisky, it's not true Irish, it's cheap commercial for the masses.

@NativePortlander1970 100% Irish but grew up in Georgia? American spelling perhaps? My Irish friends who actually live in Ireland tell me it’s correct with an e in it.
ArtieKat · M
@meJess Agreed. I think it's only Scotch whisky which doesn't have the "e" - but I'm prepared to be contradicted.
@meJess Her ancestors were part of the "indentured servant" slavery that went to the southern states from the 1600's to late 1800's, their English landlord accused them of being in debt and sold their debt plantation owners.
