Meat is causing people to be illiterate.

Oatly is banned from labeling their products as oat milk because it confuses people. But if it's confusing reading the word oats and milk, yet you think it's real milk, does this mean meat is causing illiteracy issues? I'm starting to strongly suspect this meat business, I thought meat made you smart or at least that's what the industry says 🫪

Yeah. I'm not going to be giving up eating meat entirely, because I'm of the opinion that some animal protein is necessary for a healthy diet, but this dumbing down of America is just ridiculous. I'm not going to look at a carton of oat milk and think that stuff came from a cow.

@LordShadowfire putting a qualifying word in front of another word negates the meaning of the real word (examples : non alcoholic beer , trans women , oat milk etc..)
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@AthrillatheHunt
trans women
EXCUSE YOU?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@ItsMeMorgue what do you mean ? If non alcoholic beer was really beer they would just call it beer. .
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@LordShadowfire Yeah I get it, I'm not preaching per se, I just found that the specfic thought process of not knowing that oat milk isn't dairy was hilarious to me

I know you know exactly what I mean.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@SatanBurger I know. I also find it hilarious.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@ItsMeMorgue of course you’re welcome to try and trick yourself into believing the non alcoholic beer is really beer.

@AthrillatheHunt Your anti trans comment is unwarranted for lots of reasons. And Sunshine already made a similar argument which I responded why that was illogical:

1. Peanut butter isn't real butter despite butter being first used in the same exact method. Are you this confused over hundreds of other products?

2. Milk isn't real, at least not the way you used it. If you want to get so technical, it's technically cow t itty juice or bovine secretions, yet we don't see whole, 2%, skim cow t itty juice at the supermarket.

3. Names can be given to multiple products if it has the same use. Someone who is allergic to dairy can go to soy milk to put milk in their coffee for example.

@AthrillatheHunt You mentioned trans people in your comment, stop making it about something else.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger okay Satan (that’s like the20th time I’ve said that this week )
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt You know exactly what you were attempting to do.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger so is oat milk milk ? (Don’t answer that - it would only prove my point)
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt Milk isn't milk, it's cow ti tty juice. With that said, both oat and dairy can be used for milk purposes as milk the word isn't real
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@AthrillatheHunt Your point, as if anybody is blind enough to miss it, is to make derogatory comments about human beings. As usual.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@AthrillatheHunt Here I'll make this easy for you. The word “milk” is just a linguistic label humans gave to a white liquid that mammals produce for their young. Over time, language evolved to include plant-based versions like oat milk or almond milk, which mimic the appearance and function of animal secretions.

So yeah the word “milk” is human-made, not an inherent property of the thing itself.

@AthrillatheHunt How do you explain this photograph of a farmer milking an oat?

@SatanBurger I mistakenly thought we were on the same page when you called people that thought oat milk was milk dumb. I mean illiterate
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@ItsMeMorgue my point was about language , and how qualifying words negate the original meaning. I recognize and respect trans people

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt today.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@AthrillatheHunt I'm a bit more skeptical than my counterpart. You brought it up and then quickly tried to minimize bringing it up.

@LordShadowfire I brought it up as an example in the context of language , which was my whole point . Nothing to do w the ideology .
