Is it common knowledge that leaving a tea bag in a cup can cause staining?

Did we also know that if we leave that cup to dry out it becomes tough to remove without soaking or bleach?

I'm not trying to be patronising this is an actual question.

If you regularly drink tea, you should know that.
You also shouldn't leave a wet tag on your counter because it might get a tattoo. 😅

@CrazyMusicLover it's been up for discussion at work and at home. And I've gone as far as allowing a tea bag to sit and stain a cup at home...

No, I did NOT know that! But some of my clear glass coffee mugs have coffee stains right where the person drinking might sip. The only way to remove the stains is with an abrasive, and that means that area will ALWAYS catch stains afterward.

@4meAndyou soak and bleach. Try that instead

@exchrist not to some no
My question is .... does it matter ?
Its just a cup .

Vinegar or lemon juice is better than bleach, (let it soak), bleach doesn't actually remove the stain as it changes its structure to refract light so as not to be seen.

Bleach is also highly toxic and an asthmagen.
Id truly recommend only using it as a last resort..... and use gloves in a well ventilated area.

Toothpaste is also a good alternative.

Personally - i love my tea strong, like my coffee.
I have no problems with stains....maybe except on my inherited coffee pot, but then thats because it got scrubbed. Its no biggie - thr coffee still tastes the same.

Sometimes we can get so obsessed about things being perfect, they just stress us out.

The important part is:
Tea and coffee are delightful 🤗
