Sugar Free Sweet Onion Vinaigrette Salad Dressing.

After receiving a bit of sticker shock...(an 8 oz bottle of this salad dressing costs $4.29, and I was using 4 to 5 bottles of it every month!), I decided to experiment and see if I could create something similar to the bottled dressing, for less money.

1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup Splenda or generic equivalent
2/3 cup olive oil
3/4 cup Olive oil based mayonnaise
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 Tablespoons onion powder

Whirl all of the ingredients in a blender, and store in a small pitcher or other lidded container which will pour.
Keep refrigerated.

I make a lot of chopped salads, and my cheap version of chopped salad is:

1 head green cabbage
1/2 head red cabbage
1/2 16 oz bag shredded carrots

Slice and then chop all the cabbage. Add the shredded carrots, and toss. Store in a couple of gallon sized ziploc bags in your fridge. Pour out as desired and add:

Very generous sprinkling roasted salted sunflower seeds
Sugar free Sweet Onion vinaigrette salad dressing to taste.

Toss well, and make a meal of it!

I love sweet onion dressing. Thanks for sharing. Wonder how it would be with honey versus the Splenda?
4meAndyou · F
@Magenta I think it would wreck my reason for not using sugar. I am not supposed to have sugar or honey or syrup of any kind.

@4meAndyou Aaw sorry about that. 🩷
If I make it I'll try honey.
