How to Make Seasoned Garlic Croutons for Salads
Got stale bread? Ready to throw it out? Don't! This is how to waste less bread.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cube 5 slices of bread into 1/2" cubes. Place them in a bowl.
Saute 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 2 Tablespoons of butter, and 1 or more cloves of minced garlic just until garlic is cooked...about 5 minutes.
To the oil and butter, add 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning, if desired. Stir.
Pour the oil and butter mixture over the bread cubes in the bowl. Toss well. If necessary, add a bit more oil if all the bread cubes don't absorb the seasoned oil and butter.
Place the bread cubes on a non stick baking sheet in a single layer, and bake for about 10 minutes.
Crispy Croutons! Store in a ziploc plastic bag, and they will stay good almost indefinitely.
