Tips for pizza delivery?

I have a Domino's literally one mile from my apartment. It is literally on the same street as me.

I placed a delivery order for two large pizzas. What do you think the tip should be?

And to anyone who has done pizza delivery, why do companies charge such a high delivery fee? $5 in Domino's case, and it doesn't even go to the driver? So insane.

Oh and to anyone who wants to say "why didn't you just pick it up?", stfu. I don't want to leave my apt today. Life is like that sometimes.

The first tip is don't buy Domino's, buy real Italian pizza 🤌 jk

For real though, standard here is between 10-20% depending on region and quality of service.

@basilfawlty89 Lol, I actually looked up which fast food pizza places make their own dough and the only one on the list near me was Domino's. I wish I had the energy to just make my own pizza from scratch. My order was $25 and I'm tipping $3 since it's right down the street and I only ordered 2 items.

@HellsBelle that's a fair amount.

Ans I understand, I love cooking, but sometimes eh. Especially if I'm just cooking for myself.
@basilfawlty89 Real Italian Pizza doesn't have a y meat on it, I like my American Pizza!

@basilfawlty89 What you need to call in help?

Italians invented pizza, but they used very limited meats.

It was the Italian American, in America that started going heavy on the meats.

Salami, sausages, hams, damn even wurstel and all that sort of stuff is fine here too, I've no idea why Americans feel they have an exclusive on that lol.

A goddamn steak definitely not

If it was €12.50 (+ tip) and it came from fast food we'd have people rioting down here 🐣
@Elessar American Pizza

@sstronaut That sort of ingredients is definitely acceptable also here.

I personally wouldn't mix all of them together because it becomes too loaded for my tastes: ham is unnecessary if there's already spicy salami imo, same as bacon when there's already sausage, but that's just me, plenty of Italy Italians mix those too

Just a few weeks ago I ordered:

- Sausage
- Speck (sorta like a smoked, heavily spiced "ham")
- (Fresh) Porcini mushrooms
- (Fresh) Champignon mushrooms
- Mix of dry mushrooms
- San Marzano tomato sauce
- Fior di latte Campano (Buffalo mozzarella)

(€10.90)
@Elessar What's a Buffalo mozzarella? Buffalo spicy sauce? Or Chicken? Or actually animal buffalo?

Nope, got to go heavy on the meats!

Elessar · 26-30, M
@sstronaut Mozzarella made out of buffalo milk. Way better tasting than regular cow one (which is tasteless in comparison)

San Marzano instead is a specific variety of tomato that grows on volcanic soils and taste much better than whatever regular tomato sauces most pizzerias use

Yeah but as I said those combo exist also here. Except you get them on actual pizza dough and not frozen / fastfood ones 😜

@sstronaut because we need the opinin of an actual Italian, and I am not in the mafi-I mean Italian.
@basilfawlty89 Well the Mafia Pizza is an American Pizza

And Americans are the ones that started loading a-lot-a meats onto the pizza... and created Pepperoni and adding the Pepperoni to the Pizzas.

My understanding if you order a Pepperoni Pizza in Italia, you might get a Bell Pepper Pizza
