Why is it called pork butt when it's actually from the shoulder of a pig? 🤔

Ham is from the actual rear-end of a pig. Shouldn't we be calling ham pork butt? You can't tell me it's because "pork butt" doesn't sound appetizing because if that were the case, they wouldn't have applied that name to the damn shoulder. Shit makes no sense.
