What do you think of the infamous McDonald’s “no quit policy”?

Where apparently they don’t allow a worker to quit until they’ve spoken to a manager or regional supervisor.

How is this enforced?? If someone wants to quit and walks out the door ... who makes them sit for the exit interview.

@sarabee1995 If they do not show up enough days, someone comes to their house and marches them to work at gunpoint. Joking, joking.

But yeah for a wage slave, such things are kind of hard to enforce. Maybe they guilt trip the employees by telling them stories of a less fortunate teenager who doesn't even have a job.
They play the song "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan just for effect.

THEN the employee falls to his or her knees crying saying, "Thank you for showing me the light! I will keep working here, I will appreciate the golden opportunity that the golden arches hath bequeefed upon me!"

Well, umm, maybe not.

@sarabee1995 It can’t legally be enforced because of the at will work act. Just like an employer can terminate an employee without providing reason, they also cannot impose policies dictating when and how an employee quits.

@Straylight Wow! Seems tough. In this country an employer would be before the Employment Tribunal or Employment Court for firing an employee without providing reason and following a sometimes protracted process.

Ya, fire me. @sarabee1995 @sarabee1995

@Straylight Even if it could be enforced, what employer wants to keep someone who hates the job to the point that they want out? Those are typically the worst performers.

Basically because when someone wants out of a voluntary situation, they become a burden so why not let them out?

@sarabee1995 McDonald's law enforcement arrests you and you have to face Judge Ronald McDonald in court.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
@Rolexeo Interrogation by the Hamburglar.
