It will once opened unless kept in the refrigerator with the lid replaced.
The first thing that happens is usually mould growing on its surface. It can also start to ferment - an early sign of that can be a distinctly fizzy taste and wine-like odour.
It may also, in time, crystallise. That is no going "bad" in the decomposition sense, but the sugar crystallising. It may still be edible but not easy to spread!
