People of the UK: Do you leave a tip at restaurants?

Somewhat nicer places are starting to add a ‘discretionary’ 12.5% charge to the bill, and then if paying digitally a separate screen pops up requesting a tip on top. The second request seems a little excessive.

{@iwantsomepie] well i am british if that is the case where this hidden charge is put on your bill to cover tips i think it is disgusting . basically any gratuity to the the staff should by the customers own disgression for the quality of the food and the staffs service is satisfactory
