How spicy do you like your food to be?

My kitchen doesn't have any ventilation, so I'm really careful not to use too much spice in my food. I got pets that are really sensitive to that. But before I moved here I was putting ghost pepper flakes in my food pretty regularly. I liked it a lot, but not enough to venture further than that spice-wise.

@TinyViolins I never thought about the pets while cooking. That explains a bit.

@LordShadowfire It sucks for the dog the most, because he's gotten used to me giving him scraps. But when I cook with spicy stuff he just stands at the far end of the kitchen suffering in anticipation

@TinyViolins I feel like the worst pet owner on earth right now. I cook with hot sauces (not as hot as I'd like because I have to tone it down for the parents), and I just never thought about it.

@LordShadowfire Oh don't sweat it. They're probably fine. My last dog used to having sneezing fits any time I cooked with spice and it still took me a while to realize she was reacting to the spice in the air. She still stood there like a sentry.

There's other areas this one can run off to if he wanted to. The cats are smart enough stay away from the kitchen until they hear the sounds of their own food.

Everyone has their own tolerance level. I guess that's why they say "if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen"
