I just ate raw honeycomb for the first time 🍯

We’re hanging out at my sister’s and she shared with us some raw honeycomb a friend of a friend of hers shared with her. It was interesting. Tasted like honey, obviously, but it was really weird eating honey with an actual texture you can bite into. Very waxy, also obviously, but I guess I just never ate anything waxy before. I wouldn’t eat it again just for how sweet it was, but that wasn’t bad. I see the appeal, lol.

Every honeycomb tastes different than the next, depending on where you buy your honeycombs. For example, clover honey comes from bee hives that are purposely situated adjacent to a large acreage of white clover... or adjacent to fields of red clover, both of which are a typical grass crop you'd find near a dairy farm.

White clover honey tastes milder than red clover honey, whereas sunflower honey tastes stronger than either clovers and yields a darker color than clover. 🐝🌻

The "comb" is a waxy substance. Reminder, do not give honey to your child!

@samueltyler2 Why would I do that? He’s three months old. Do you think I’m an ⅰdⅰot?

@Ducky wow, i am sorry you took.some kind reminder so personally. The medical literature is replete with cases where loving mothers forgot. I was just trying to be helpful. BTW there are a few articles also calling attention to botulinum spores in chamomile.
